These are all too prevalent currently.

Many may ask what a "practice relationship" is. Well in my opinion it is as follows:
1. You spend a lot of your free time with each other.
2. Go to dinner, movies, dancing, and other activities together.
3. Sometimes you flirt or in some cases even have a NCMO (non committal make out)

Pretty much you do everything that you would in a relationship just without a commitment of going anywhere.
Why on earth do we do this to each other?
Is it healthy? Is it normal?
I submit to you that it is not any of the above. However, I have a theory as to why we create or get involved in these types of relationships.
BECAUSE THEY ARE EASY!!!!

Yes I said it. We look for the easiest possible relationship. In this "practice" we don't have to commit to anyone. It is easy to just call them up if we don't have any plans. There is no real time or effort put into the person. Even though I am sure that they know each other very well. They have most likely shared family, relationship, and work issues with one another. There is no topic they don't discuss. Except the one that neither wants to admit.

That they are using each other. It will eventually become unhealthy because at one point or another one will like the other more than just friends. You can't spend so much time with someone and not become attached. It is impossible.

So for all those in a "practice relationship" jump ship. The person you are spending time with is not a bad person but trust me you will want something more eventually.

Take the plunge even if you have to be alone for awhile, it will be worth it. Go find the one that is the real deal.

Latest and Greatest

For all of those who actually read my blog...Thank you. :) I know I don't post very often but I am trying. I have decided to keep up with a few things in life and this is one of them.
So what is the latest and greatest in Breann's world since the last post:
1.) Got a new job working for Utah Technology Council (LOVE IT)
2.) Moved into a new house but it is a short lease. :(
3.) Took summer school and ended up with a 3.7 GPA
4.) Went white water rafting in WY, Hiked Arches, and went Skydiving. (Pictures will come as soon as I get them from others.)

I am looking forward to a few projects such as writing and a website. FRUSTRATING
I have been busy with callings (2), work, social, dating, and just plain living life. Don't get me wrong it has been fun and an adventure but I sit back and go...hhhmmm what have I accomplished. So the following are a few things to help remind me of what I have done. Pretty much just played.

My friend Josh celebrated his 30th birthday and as a gag gift (please do not take me seriously) this is what my friend Janee and I gave him.
AH shooting adventures. It was great times. Went out to the west mountains of SLC valley and went shooting with a few friends. The boys (Chad, Josh, and Steve who is pictured) enjoyed showing me how to shoot a gun. Which of course I already knew how but I thought I would entertain them and what girl does not love having 3 guys attention??? :)
I went to Mesa twice in January. Once for RJ & Ashley's sealing and another for my Grandpa Bryant's funeral. Life and death continues to astound me how it just balances itself out. In this picture I am with my friend Bryan who I was able to see at a party over the weekend of the sealing. It was great to see family and friends again. Oh how I miss many of them.
Ah the happy couple. RJ & Ashley were sealed for time and all eternity on Jan. 9th, 2010. We are so happy and excited for them.

Well my family and friends that is pretty much the sum course of my life. I am diligently working on my writing currently. I feel strongly on finishing some of these thoughts in my head. Probably just to get them out of my head but still. I look forward to March and the adventures it will bring. Like a trip to NYC, Hockey games, ice skating, and dates (hopefully).

Loves and hugs to you all.

P.S. I have not updated my blog in awhile and I know that there has been much that has changed. Well not really....I am still single, I still work, and I still go to school. So really life is the same as it has always been. However, it has all been a new experience in UT. Still not sure how I feel about UT. It is cold and wet; but the mountains are gorgeous and I am slowly but surely making a life for myself here.
As for updates I went to San Francisco with 2 of my dearest friends for my 30th birthday. And as luck would have it I have a ton of pictures. So here are just a few.

Amber, Me, & Heather enjoying the sites of San Fran

I am terrified of being out on open water.

Amber and I

My Birthday Cake (Alethia gave me the idea for it.)

I am too cute for jail. :)

Birthday Wishes

Hello to all. So it is the eve of my 30th Birthday and I have spent most of the day rummaging through memories. Man life has been one crazy ride after another. But I wouldn't change it. Don't get me wrong there are parts I wish to delete or skip past but the end of the story is still untold and I am excited to see how it turns out.
I am truly blessed and many of you know the reasons and how. I can not express enough love, thanks, and appreciation to my family, friends, and Savior for helping me along this journey. Especially to my parents who despite my best efforts at stubbornness and even stupidity have stuck in there with me. They are truly an inspiration and my heroes. Both of them.

As this next chapter of life begins I look forward to the road ahead. I can not dwell on the past anymore life is in front of me. So if you see me looking back turn my head around and tell me to get a move on. There are things yet to be done and to come.

Love you all,

Carla Breann

Latest and Greatest

I have just returned from a whirlwind few weeks. Between Oklahoma, Arizona, and Utah I am just plain tuckered out. However I have finally landed in a new place in Cottonwood Heights, UT and have a job. YEAH!!! My own space and money to support my ever growing school habit. LOL
There is not much to tell beyond that. I went to my cousin Kirsten's wedding and it was wonderful. I have such a loving family. Even though events tend to undo us sometimes we always seem to pull it off and make it look easy.
I have a few pics to add but alas I am using a computer that is not my own and so they will have to wait for another day.
Question of the Day: What happens to all our old appliances???? Do they get recycled or just thrown away? Waste of a landfill if they are just thrown away. :(

Loves to all.... Forgot my camera in AZ and so I had to rely on others to take pics and it may take me a few days to get them. But I will regale you all with the adventures of Oklahoma which according to my brother-in-law Sam I am a true Oklahomian and mother.
OK is one humid state and needless to say my hair drove me nuts the whole time but beyond that it was great weather. That is until the Tornado. All week I had been watching the kids (Isaac, Emarie, & Olivia) during the day and Sam would come home after work and take over dad duties. Well on the Friday night of that week he went out to the YW camp as one of the priesthood brethern. AND OF COURSE there would be weather issues that night. The electricity went off just as I turned the TV to the weather channel to see why there was so much rain and wind. There was a Tornado advisory and then all went out. Thank goodness for cell phones so I could call my mother and find out what was going on. Needless to say whilst I was calling her I went to the front room of Ella's house and looked out the window to nasty thunder and lightning....AND a siren going off. I can not express how scared I was. Here I am with three children in the middle of an emergency and I have no idea how to handle it. Thank goodness for mothers who pick up their phones and calm us down in these situations. Luckily the tornado was 15 miles away which does not seem far away but apparently in tornado terms it is. I made my brother-in-law Joe come over and stay with me for a bit to calm down.
That is one of the many stories of Oklahoma. There will be more to follow as pictures are found and able to post. Along with the updates of what I am doing in the next few weeks in regards to moving, etc. Loves to all.

Season of change :)

Yes it is a new haircut and I am loving it. No tears where shed but there was a fear of cutting it so short. But alas Heidi knows what she is doing.

Ah the sweet relaxation of no job and full-time school. Ok so it is not really relaxing and if any of you know me I am not much for relaxing. However, I did take a trip to Utah and visited my fabulous friend Leslie and her family. Have to admit they are one of my favorite families that I am not immediately related to.

As school goes I have just started my last set of classes to finish my associates. YEAH 10 years in the making but I did finally decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. I want to work in public service whether it is in non-profit or in humanitarian projects. But alas first things first I must finish school. It is different not working and really not having much of a schedule but I am getting used to it and am grateful to get the better grades.

Life is full of decisions and as time passes there seem to be more and more decisions. I as usual am in process of making decisions and am ready to plant my feet firmly in the ground and set in some roots. Even if it is by myself. It is time that I make those changes in my life that will help me create a home for myself. So it is with things of change walking into the dark to find the light at the end. :)

Taboo of Politics

Yes I know this post seems to be a bit odd and perhaps it is more for my venting purposes than anything else. You may beleive what you will but for the love of all stand up for that belief and repsect the belief of others.
I was recently reading an article in a well known publication regarding the CPAC in DC. It is a conference of conservative voters and politicians discuss where the party is going and what they want to accomplish. The article I think was well written HOWEVER the comments made by people after were annoying and kind of ridiculous.
They were bashing each party for the other and really do they understand each other??? I don't believe so. I don't know why it enraged me to read these posts but I think it is because I am so tired of the fighting. We are not all going to come to a consensus but can we find a common ground?
In the current economic and political state of our country I wish people understood the power that they have to change things. We should not be sitting on our tails waiting for a bailout from the goverment. If you have two good hands and feet you can help another person and help build this country up. This country was founded on principles of work and community building. The founding fathers fought for something bigger than themselves and what their situation was. If Lincoln just sat around waiting would the civil war every been resolved.
OK I am slowly stepping away from the soap box. :) Again this is mainly for venting purposes and honestly wanting to know what people think. So please feel free to post a comment and let me know. I will not be offended if you disagree with me... beauty of free agency is that you can think for yourself. :) :)

Update

Hello to Everyone,
This is going to be probably a long post because there is much to catch up on.
So first things first:
I have a new Nephew Kael Bryant Birdno. He was a month early but is perfectly healthy and Crystal is doing great as well. So excited for the new arrival and kinda sad that they live so far away.
One of my bestest friends turned the big 30 this month. Ms. Sarah Peterson Doster is now 30 and I am not sure if she is loving it. But heck she looks great and happy... really that is what matters. She is a rockstar. We have been friends since we were 12 and were like David and Goliath. Mainly because I was 4'10" and she was 5'10". She is always so supportive of me even when she has a busy life with 3 kids, one on the way and a husband. Anyway she is a rock and I love her to death and am so grateful we are friends and her Grandmother thought to make us hang out. LOL
I am currently doing full-time school & work. Yes I think I have taken a few crazy pills but it is what needs to be done. Lets just pray that I survive. But things are going well with it all. And I just moved to Chandler. Yes I left Mesa and have moved further south. LOL It is going really good and I get to ride my bike to work everyday. (while it is still under 100)

I am adding pictures of my friends and what I have been up to lately.

Heather, Me, & Amber
Me & Dan (no I am not dating him. So perhaps if I put them in writing my thoughts may come to me more clearly.
First - I realized today that I have fabulous support and love in my world. I am reminded daily of the great friends and family I have. My friend Sarah D. for instance... even though she is going through a rough time and dealing with work, family, pregnancy etc she still takes the time to talk to me. Or one of the sweetest things was on my birthday she posted on her blog a blurb about me. It was so sweet and of course I cried because I just do that. It has been just the simple things lately that I cherish.
Second - School and work are kicking my tail. Don't get me wrong I choose this and I am not complaining because things are actually going really well with both. However, I feel stupid for not applying myself earlier and just doing it all. I am older and wiser but that doesn't mean it is easier. I did however make the Dean's list and just finished up one of my economics classes with an A. I forgot how much I love to learn.
Third - I have been faced with some reality checks of my single life. It is difficult at times to do this on my own. Not going to lie it is mainly when I am sick and want someone to take care of me if only to bring me a bowl of soup. However, I wouldn't change the direction I have gone. I feel a stronger person for it. Someday I would like to be married and have a family but it is not up to me the timetable. All I can do is prepare myself and be the best version of me.
Fourth and Final - Jesus Christ is my Savior. He is my comforter and friend. My testimony has been growing in the smallest ways but I know now of his love and care for me. There is so much that comes from following his teachings and doing as he asks. It is hard at times but if it were not hard I don't think I would learn.
I love you all and wish you the happiest of times in life right now.
Love,
Breann aka Nana, Breezy, & Short Stuff

Blessings

As it is that time of year were we tend to all reflect on the blessings of the past year it has come to my attention that I have been truly blessed in more than just the past year.

OH it has been one of those years of ups and downs but needless to say it has just been a part of the iceberg of my life. I am not going to complain about the things that I have been through because I am learning why I have gone through it. Not always useful at the moment of trial by fire but the after moments are coming and I am seeing the blessings and strengths I have been able to gain from them.

FOR EXAMPLE: My new ward is Citrus Groves. It is yet another young single adult ward and there is an emphasis on the young part. At least of those in the Relief Society. I have to admit that my fit have been dragging for some time now in wanting to be involved and part of the ward. There have been many prayers to my Heavenly Father as to why I need to be in the ward. Many tears of frustration have also been shed. You would think that I am one to just jump right in and be happy and go to church. However, I have been stubborn. I wanted to go to the family ward because I did not want to be the oldest woman in my ward. Well needless to say I have been humbled by the Lord. He has brought me to the point of understanding as to the why. It is because I NEED TO LEARN... Love, patience, understanding, and gratitude.

So for all the blessings in my life right now I am truly grateful for the blessings of a kind and all too patient Heavenly Father. Because despite my want of running faster than I am able he finds ways to slow me down and allow me to see what is around me and how it is his will and not mine that needs to be accomplished.

Boston was FABULOUS!!!

Oh the beauty of fall colors. Boston was just great. From Harvard Square to the Contemporary Art Museum. We walked almost everywhere and had a lot of soup. Needless to say New England Clam Chowder will never be the same. There are a lot of pictures but I still have not put them in something that can transfer to the blog. So the following is just one picture of Lindsay and I on the ferry to Salem. I learned how to fly on that ferry. :) I have to admit that I was freaked out while on the ferry but after awhile I got the hang of it and it ended up being a great experience.

How Time Flys

Ok so yes it has been FOREVER since I have written on my blog. And there is much to fill you all in on.
1. I went back to school full-time. I am totally excited and things are actually falling into place. Not that it has been easy but it is just coming together and it just reaffirms my decision to go back to school.
2. There has been much traveling and hiatus time. I went to KY with my parents for a month. Yes that is a month I wrote. It was great to get away and just go back to being me. I didn't realize how bogged down I had become by all the things of life.
3. I am going to Boston actually in 6 hours. Totally excited to see the east coast. It is my favorite coast. :) It will however be my last trip for sometime. Which I do not mind because honestly I love my home right now and my bed etc.

I have truly found the pleasure and joy in the small things right now. So to share or show what makes me happy I am including pictures. They may not make sense to you but they are my little joys of life right now.
As always thank you to all of you who pray for me. I feel them all the time. Remember who you are and that you are the best because I said so. :)
This is me and some of the gang after carving pumpkins. Been running around the US trying to catch some sites of the beautiful country side.
Had the oppurtunity to go to Iowa to visit my sister Crystal and her family. It was so much fun and a big relaxing week for me. It was GREAT!!! We went to Nauvoo which is their temple and got to meet up with my mom and her YW there. It was a blast. However I did realize that teenagers are just not the way they used to be. Of course I was a practically perfect teenager. LOL ;)
Here are some of the pics from the travels.

Yes I am standing in front of a cornfield. They are pretty much everywhere there and I thought it was funny. The walk over to the cornfield was the funniest part. Almost got swallowed up by grass.
On our way back from Carthage/Nauvoo on the Iowa side of the river there was this riverboat. I have never seen one before and thought it was cool. It is a casino boat that goes up and down the river but since the floods has been out of commission.
My mom and I playing stick pull. Needless to say I did not win. Totally underestimated my mom and her muscles. Not the best picture but it is a really tall temple. It was great to be able to do a session there. It has been a fun filled summer thus far and is yet to be finished.
Over the 4th of July I went up with some of my friends to Heber to a cabin for the weekend. It was so much fun and fabulous weather. I forget how much I do like it up there. Here are some pics from that weekend. (and yes we are all adults but sometimes it is nice to be kid like.)

Randy, Nathan, Camilla, me, Sarah, Rich, Cami, Becca, Colleen

We were all upstairs playing games.

Waiting for the fireworks to start

The cheerleader in me came out again. ;)

Bottom: Sarah, Randy, Nathan, Sam

Second: Paul, Becca, Camilla,

Top: Kevin (helping me up) & Charrise

This picture is not from the 4th but from a service project I did with my friend Jessica. We went to camp Wamatochick and helped get it ready for the summer campers. I was in charge of the kitchen and needless to say I now have some kitchen skills.

The summer is not over. There is the Snowflake Pioneer Day celebration coming up, traveling to Iowa & Illinois to see my family and Navuoo. There is so much fun to be had and I look forward to all of it.

Working Hard or Hardly Working

WOW where does time go??? I am just in awe at how quickly things are going. Life is going good. Just plugging along. There has been some confusion as to what I am doing now that my ward is being rearranged and dispersed. Family ward looks like a great option but at the same time the single ward is a great social network. So I am taking votes. Not sure how to put a ticker on my blog but I will figure it out and you all can vote or just leave a comment.

I recently applied for a scholarship and my co-worker was kind enough to put a collage together for me to turn in. So I have attached her fabulous work on this post because it is representitive of my life. Hopefully I will hear back from them by the beginning of August. Cross fingers :)

I will soon also be posting some things that are going on in the world that I feel are important to look into and be educated in. I know this may not seem important but I am finding that the world is ever changing and I want to know more and you lucky bloggers will get to experience the wonderful world of Breann's mind. LOL

As always much love to you all and take care of yourselves and others.

Good Times

As promised here are pictures from my trip to St. George. I got to spend a few glorious days with my cousin and one of my all time favorite people Leslie Coy and her oh so wonderful family. The pictures of our hike through Zions National Park. I loved that place and if I weren't such a wimp I may have rock climbed up the straight cliffs. LOL Well I may not be that enthusiastic about the outdoors but there were some crazy people who were rock climbing up the cliffs. It totally freaked me out. Luckily my two feet stayed firmly on the ground. I want to give a quick little note to each of my cute little Leonard co. kids. Aaron you are one smart kid. Keep up the love of books and science and don't forget to eat your vegetables. Brinlie you were so kind and thoughtful. Thank you so much for being my friend you are a sweetheart and thank you for letting me use your room. Carter what more can I say to you kiddo then "It Takes Two" will never be the same song for me. You keep dancing and entertaining because it is a talent that you have. Darylyn my little sweet cheeks. You are just a ray of sunshine and were just my little buddy. Remember to brush your hair, teeth, and say your prayers. :) Little Emma who is just the cutiest, cuddly baby. She will grow up to be a looker. And last but certainly not least Scott... OK not one of the kids but co-owner of the company. Thank you so much for everything. You are a wonderful person and I appreciate your words of wisdom and perspective. (PS - may need notes from the discussion we all had. May take you up on the idea and write it) LOVE YOU LEONARDS :)

Myself and Leslie reliving High School poses.
No we were not raised in a barn but we are monkeys
Even though it is a little blurry I have to say one of the best pictures EVER!!!

Cystic Fibrosis Walk

This is the 5th year that the Bryant team has been represented at the CF Great Strides walk. We are also expanding our team into Oklahoma (see Alethia's blog), and hopefully Kentucky, and Iowa. The Phoenix CF Great Strides walks was great this year. Granted it was a little warm but it was wonderful none the less. Holly and I both loved the support and help we have received this year. We are truly blessed. Just wanted to give you a little story of how the day went. Holly and I volunteered to be on the walk committee this year. We were in charge of the kids corner. Boy did we not realize what we were getting into. Thanks to my roommates Lindsay & Heidi (mostly Lindsay's fam.) we were able to have a popcorn & cotton candy machine. Every year it is a different challenge and this was no exception. Don't get me wrong everyone loved our kids corner but it was messy, chaotic, and a whole lot of FUN. Kids as well as adults kept coming back for more. With some of us trying to catch bits of cotton candy that was floating in the air. (now that would have been a great picture) Unfortunately mom couldn't walk but she stepped right up and did what she does best and made people smile. Everyone complimented me on how my mother was just one of the nicest people. And I fully agreed with them but of course we all know I am a bias judge. Anyway it was a great day and again thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. We look forward to this next year. The fam. Or at least I think there is. My semester is almost done and I am currently passing all my classes with grades that are great. (knock on wood the finals go well). Just got back from a WONDERFUL weekend in St. George, UT. Spending time with my dearest cousin and bestest friend Leslie. Along with her crew of Scott, Aaron, Brinlie, Carter, Darlyn, & Emma. We went to Zions National Park (pictures to come). Also I was able to attend a session in the St. George temple with Leslie. It was beautiful and so peaceful. Was able to have lunch with one of my friends Leann Hardy who moved to St. George about 6 months ago. So happy that things are working out for her there.
I can't express enough how much I truly blessed I am. Going away and just spending my time thinking and contemplating life was just what I needed to get some perspective. A big thanks goes to both Leslie & Scott for spending some late evenings talking it up about singles life and family life. And helping me realize that I am not a warped out person because I am 28 and not married. So here is hoping that I can keep the positive flow of life and grow to my potential.
Don't worry Leslie I did not forget the plan just need to have some courage to put the plan in motion. (say a little prayer for me. :)
Looking forward to the adventures of Oklahoma and Crystal & Curtis's visit. Once again life is Fabulous and there is a lot to be grateful for.
Love you all. :)

Long Day

As you may or may not notice it is the wee hours of the morning and I am posting on my blog.
It has been just one of those days that you wonder where did it go and what did I get done. There has been much confusion and question of what Breann does with her time and honestly I don't know what I do with it either. :) Today was a great example of that. Work, school, and FHE took up the entire day. Found out my sociology final is MUCH earlier than originally on the syllabus. So I am in panic mode trying to finish up psychology, sociology and public admin courses. Forgot how hard it is to keep up with homework. The classes have been great though and I have learned a lot and probably forgot more. ;)
Also for those of you who do not know I am taking road trips and projects the next few weekends.
St. George here I come. I am heading off Friday to visit one of my nearest and dearest friends Leslie Coy Brimhall Leonard. SO EXCITED!!! Time to party like it is 1997 with a few kids and a husband in tow. (Love you Scott)
Then it is back to the valley of the Sun to finish up my classes and prepare for my next trip.
O k l a h o m a (yes I am singing the song in my head) to be able to spend almost a whole week with two of my fabulous sisters and the coolest families I know is just the frosting on a cake for me.
Last weekend in May seems to be the busiest one yet. I am working on a service project for my ward. It is a campout/clean up for a boys and girls public camp. Our ward goes every year and this year I am in charge as well as my friend Jessica. We are pulling out our hair trying to pull this off.
Crystal, Curtis, and Vance are coming to visit. YEAH!!! It seems like forever since I saw them. Even though it has been only a few months. Still I am totally pumped for them to come.

So that pretty much sums it up. Family, Friends, Finals, and Fun to be had this month. Keep posted for pictures and recaps of all the happenings.

Bob we love you :)

So there have been questions raised as to who Bob is. Bob Harper is one of the trainers from NBC's Biggest Loser. He is awesome. My roommates and I went to his book signing here in Tempe. He gave a short lecture and then there was a Q&A session. He

was so down to earth and was very friendly and upbeat. During the book signing part he took a few extra moments with us girls so we could all get a single picture and then a group picture with him. His book is wonderful. Really I don't think I can say enough about him. HE IS FABULOUS!!!

First Blog

OK so after many family members as well as roommates heavily suggesting that I start a blog. So here goes. Not that I have much to say right now but if any of you know me you know I usually have something to say. ;) What is going on right now my world is just busy as a bee. This week I have the Cystic Fibrosis Walk coming up. I am excited but glad that it almost over. It is a lot of responsibility and work. I am also finishing up my psychology class. Which is great because I need a little more time for my other classes.
Alright before I close this first post I have to give my shout outs to my peeps.
To my sisters I love you all and miss you. :( You all have gorgeous children with great personalities and spirits.
To my parents, I can't wait to see you in a few days.
To my roomies, YEAH I finally have a blog and oh yes I will have a picture of Bob up soon. ;)
To my friends in the world.
